I was always looking for an excuse to re-play the original and this looked perfectI have such fond memories of the original - which was the best 2000AD game made. This is not the quality remake that was promised. At best it's just a new texture pack and screen fix. Things like the controls are worse than I even remember.The first few levels are sparse an uninteresting (fine when the original came out, poor now even by half-life 2 standards! ).This should have been an "update" to the main game or even a free screen fix so the original is playable and a £5 texture update DLC,If you enjoyed the Rogue Trooper Comic and DIDN'T play the original game, you will probably enjoy this - but the update is not enough if you played or didn't read the comics.. This game is awesome.I missed this back in the day, but I'm glad I picked up the redux. It's a solid third person shooter with some stealth and tactical elements. To call it a tactical shooter is to stretch that definition to the point of meaninglessness. However, it does strike a balance between vulnerability and the ability to run and gun. Grab this when it's on sale, it's got a campaign of a decent length, cool setting, and fun gameplay.. Good game. Graphics are the only difference. See my previous review for everything else.. I was a HUGE fan of the original Rogue Trooper, so being able to play a more polished version in Ultra HD on a 55 inch curve screen is like all my xmas's come at once. Granted.... It's not anything cutting edge. But what it is, is a whole heap of fun to play. For the price, you can't go wrong !!!. Rogue Trooper is actually not bad, I really enjoyed playing the original on my PS2 but this version seems pointless when you can still buy the original.The main differences are that this version has better graphics, online co-op and changing the cover system to activate from running into cover rather then a button press.Considering no-one plays the online game modes and the increased price on this version, if this game interests you, just buy the original version.. i never played the original but this is good old classic TPS corridor game and i really like it... better than most of those online, coop, social, mmo, open world bs games that we have to play these days..... 10/10. this game is awesome. Very enjoyable redux of a little known retro shooter from back in the day. Imho worth the current full price, definately worth it on sale. Its obviously not a 2019 shooter, graphically or otherwise, but fun if you have an itch for older games that doesn't require a dedicated XP machine. I like the graphical update though. The core game play hasn't been touched, so keep that in mind, since this is how your daddy played games.Works fine on my modern hardware. Will update if I have anything negative to say. I love the 2000AD universe of comics, so this is great. Would love a version like this for Dredd.. Loved this game back in 2006 and had just repurchased it on Steam a year or so ago (before the Redux was announced). The new 2017 update is in improvement in just about every way from the original. While the engine and game mechanics haven't had anything added (from what I can tell), the game holds up pretty damn well - and the improved graphics add quite a bit to the replay value (for me at least),I wish they had added in some of the elements from Sniper Elite 4 - but, at the same time, this game is quite a lot of fun and stands on its own blue legs. Really love the Bio-Chip menu and all the cool things you can do with your weapons.The only real issue I had was with the cover mechanic, I kept on going into cover, or getting stuck on cover when I was trying to run past. It got easier with time, but I really wish the cover was a bit smoother.My other quibble is that Helm still doesn't appear in the end credits with the rest of the squad. Would be nice if he was there at the end cinematic during the credits ;)I also miss Natashov's old outfit - but I suppose that is the tennage side of me :PReally hope they decide to put out a new Rogue game - I wouldn't even mind if they redid the story from the start again using a newer engine (a blending of Sniper Elite and this would be awesome)..and while I am wishing, a Co-Op campaign mode would be great as well!!!!. sorry it looked good but yes it's bad. The mouse play makes it frustrating.
